The Best Topic for A Term Paper is Anything That You Are Passionate About
Last week I began a series on writing term papers for my eighth grade students. It’s an important tool to grasp since they would soon be in high school were writing term and research papers would be the norm, daily. I looked for topics that they would be interested in writing about in my everyday life. I have been married for five years and my husband Adam is a real “guy’s guy.” When he has visited my classroom all the boys think he’s cool and all the girls seem to crush on him. I of course think he’s a very “cool” guy as well or I would not have married him. Adam rides a motorcycle, love to work out and is an avid golfer. He literally golfs four days a week in the summer. It’s ridiculous. Adam’s qualms and quirks would really make a great topic for a research paper. It would be engaging and funny and something I write with a bit of a passion about. That gave me an idea when trying to come up with topics for term papers for my students. I used the following tips to help my students.
1.When thinking up topics for term papers write about what you know. I know that sounds fairly easy and a little ridiculous but most people over look this. If you write about a topic that you find value in you will be more apt to write a paper that has more passion and direction. You will care about the paper and you will put one hundred and ten percent into it.
2.Another topic for a term paper would be writing about something you want to learn more about. I have always been intrigued by gymnasts. I think the amount of time, hard work and dedication they put into this sport is amazing. If I were to write a term paper on this, not only would I have fun and enjoy writing it but I would put the time and the research into it.
3.No matter what topic you pick you will always have to thoroughly edit your term paper. This can be quite hard. It’s very difficult to edit your own work. Take advantage of most colleges free tutoring program and have your paper edited by a professionals. You can also try giving your self some time away from your paper, walk away for a couple of hours, take a nap, read a book or watch some TV then come back to your paper. You will be amazed at how many mistakes you will find.
4.A good way to pick a good topic for a term paper is looking to see how many resources are available to you. Writing a paper on yellow dresses would be significantly harder than writing a paper on dresses. After you pick a topic go to your local library or browse the internet to see if you are able to write a thorough paper on the topic. Be sure to pick one that is not too broad yet not too specific.
5.Consider term-papers-writer.com for all of your term and research paper needs. They are a great site with lots of useful information to help you pick great term paper topics. Termpaperwriter.org will even write your paper for you for a fee. They offer unlimited amendments and fifteen percent off your first order.
After I allowed my students to pick their own topics the term paper unit really took off. The students really had fun writing their papers and their papers were actually really good and filled with great sources.
