Term Papers are expected to be prepared in specific format observing the structure rules. MLA or APA is the generally prescribed term paper format for a college research paper. The Composition

A term paper can be of any specific size, in proportion to the significance of the topic and the purpose of the research. The general composition of a term paper consists of seven parts. They include the cover page, table of contents, introduction, main body, conclusion, bibliography and appendices. Of these, introduction, main body and conclusion deal with the critical research analysis of the term paper topic. The rest of the parts give shape to the paper, in line with the format of a college research paper.

The cover page is the title page of your term paper which addresses the reader providing information about the topic discussed, submission date and the instructor and researcher information like course, branch of study etc. The format of the title page can vary according to the chosen style sheet in terms of font type, alignment, spacing and so forth.

The table of contents acts as a pointer to the different chapters and sections of the term paper with page number reference. This section is followed by introduction of the paper where the writer gives a foreword about the topic discussed with regard to your research goals, nature and importance of the topic, your argument and the process and method of research.

The body of your term paper deals your research topic which has to be carefully devised with appropriate sections and sub-sections. Through the chapters the research topic has to be stated retaining the course and progression of the argument.  The section also need to state supporting information with proper citations and interpretations.

The conclusion part of your term paper derives the hypothesis which substantiates your main argument. Your points and insights are turned to be the findings of your research with sustaining arguments. Here the summary of your research work has to be briefly described referring the strengths and limits of the process.

The bibliography or reference section of the term paper authenticates the source information you have used for your writing. This has to be stated in the prescribed format of your style sheet. In the appendices section you can include all other relevant information and research procedures you have made use of, which finally moulds a compact term paper format.
