The Research Paper Format Can Be Hard to Figure Out Unless You Have the Proper Tools

I remember being a little girl and really wanting to be someone else. It wasn’t that I wasn’t happy it was just that I felt like I didn’t fit in to my everyday ordinary family. I wanted to be an actress or an explorer or really just anything thing else than my every day to day. I would constantly tell my mom about how boring I thought my life was. I think my mom got really frustrated with me because one day she told me to go write about how I was feeling and really do some research on the matter. My mom found me a couple of research paper formats and told me she hoped the grass was greener on the other side. I went to town writing and I best friend game me the following tips to help me.

1. When learning the research paper format remember the basic research paper structure. The first paragraph is the introduction, tell the audience what you are going to tell them. Be sure to include your thesis and introduce all of your mains points. The subsequent paragraphs go into detail about the main points you just brought up. A good rule of the thumb is to have one citation per point being made. Your thesis should be present in some form in each paragraph. The last section is the conclusion. You should reiterate your main points, bring up the thesis again and finish off your essay with a nice citation.

5. Part of mastering a good format for your research paper remember to write about what you know. Pick a topic that interest you. It can be sports, television a hobby you love or even your pet. If you are not interested in the topic you are writing about it will really come through in your paper.

When I began researching a safari in Africa or a boat ride in Italy. I began realizing that life would get entirely too expensive and too complicated. I even read about life in third world countries and really began to appreciate my life much more. Learning the correct research paper format really opened me up and allowed me to value the little things in life.

Life’s hard. Sometimes I just get really sick of it. There’s never enough money or time. Things just get really crazy at times. I am not a “Debbie downer” kind of person but sometimes I just wonder why can’t things be easy? My best friend Michelle has always had a real difficult life. She grew up in an orphanage and during her college years she suffered the worst depression imaginable. At the time I just couldn’t wrap my head around why she was acting so incredibly crazy. One day her and I were great going out to eat, having very serious deep talks about social issues and politics and then next day- nothing. She would cancel plans with me at the last minute and literally just go ape on me over a very small comment. I never knew which friend I would get when I went over to her dorm room or gave her a call. There were many times I felt like I just wanted to write her off but I just couldn’t do it. Finally I decided to talk to my mom about. My mom has always been a really intuitive person and she was a registered nurse I thought she could advise me on some medical insider information. My mom told me if I really wanted to continue to pursue a relationship I really needed to do some research on the best way to be a friend to her. I decided to first figure out the best research paper format to use since I really wanted Michelle to read it after I was done.

  • An easy research paper format is the APA style citation method. This is the in text citation where you don’t have to fumble around with footnotes. The following is an example of it:
    • Last name of author, First name of author. (year). Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher.
    • The in text citation is as follows:(Last name of author, year, page#)
  • Research is key. I understood that if I didn’t find good reputable sources for my paper not only would I not understand Michelle’s illness she wouldn’t believe what I any of the conclusions I was trying to draw. I had to stick to reliable books, articles and journals. The truth is any loser can make a claim about depression and call it fact on a random website. So I found myself in the library quite a bit.
  • There are many different kinds of research paper formats no matter which one I picked I recognized that editing is very important. I know that if a paper is not free of grammatical and spelling errors it holds very little merit. If I am reading an article online about anything and I find even the slightest error I begin to lose faith in what I am reading. I didn’t want Michelle to feel that way.
  • I wrote a research paper outline first. An outline is pretty much a basic map of your paper. I had a section for every paragraph of my paper and within this section I detailed the points I would be making and I plugged in the supporting citations. This made the paper so much easier to write since I could isolate sections of the paper and focus on that portion. I also accompanied my outline with a bibliography page which made it easy to refer back to.
  • When perusing the internet for ideas I ran into termpaperwriter.org. It is a great website with hilarious blogs designed to make you laugh but are extremely informative. The website also goes over various research paper formats in great detail. Additionally they have an academic writing section where they will write your term or research paper for a fee and grant you unlimited amendments. They aren’t happy unless you are.

The paper I wrote on my friend Michelle was one of the hardest papers I had every written. It was difficult learning what she was going through and how she was feeling. Some part of me always thought that depression was a sort of made up disease but the research paper really helped me realize that she was going through some serious problems and all I could really do was be there for her and encourage her to get help. Michelle did like my research paper style and was very flattered that I had taken the time to write a paper just to learn more about her.

My friend Lucy always seemed to be attracted to people with disabilities. I am not talking your normal everyday disabilities that men have: noncommittal, lazy, archaic and unhygienic. No Lucy always seemed to attract men who had physical disabilities. And not just your run of the mill missing a finger or gimpy leg. No Lucy always seemed to fall for men who were blind, paraplegic and one was just a down right idiot who spoke some off dialect I had never heard of. They could barely hold a conversation so all they ever did was make out I think Lucy just always felt like she couldn’t get anyone any better. She had pretty low self esteem. She was pretty with short red hair and green eyes. But she had a bit of a weight and acne problem. One day she called me and chewed my ear off about her latest boyfriend. His name was Jeremy. She went on for about an hour about what a great guy he was. She hadn’t met him yet but had been talking to him online all night. Lucy emailed me his picture while we talked. He wasn’t a bad looking guy but something just seemed really off about him. Then she told me that he was deaf and it all made sense. She met Jeremy online after he posted an ad that he needed help with his term papers. In particular he was having problems with a research paper format. Lucy was pretty smart and she needed the extra money. They arranged to meet up the next afternoon.

Lucy could never be friends with any guy. She always had a crush on my cousin Steve. Steve used to hang out with us quite a bit until one day Lucy just came on way too strong and Steve told me he didn’t want to hang out with her anymore. 1. Learn to the using the two basic citations:

MLA is in text
APA is at the bottom using footnotes

2. Keep your sources to books and journals most professors frown on internet resources

3. Pick a broad research topic where you’re guaranteed to find many sources.

4. A strong conclusion means a strong thesis that is reiterated in each paragraph and in the last paragraph.

When Lucy finally met Jeremy, as predicted, she fell head over heels for him. He could talk fairly well and she was really happy he could read lips so she could abandon her limited sign language skills. Lucy pulled out her cheat sheet on a basic research paper format and explained the steps to him one by one. He watched her lips carefully. When she was done he asked her if she would be his English tutor. Not only helping with basic research paper format but with all the other papers he needed help with. Jeremy and Lucy shortly began dating after that night. And not only did Lucy help him with his the research paper format she ended up writing his papers instead.
