I don’t want a lot from life. I like to think of myself as a fairly simplistic person. I just want a job, a car and a place to live. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask. I was in the middle of graduate school and had taken a job as a teaching assistant. I had just been given my dad’s mini-van and signed a lease on a new apartment. Things were pretty much where I wanted them to be until I began my life as a teacher’s assistant. The syllabus looked fairly easily as I glanced over it the Sunday I would be starting my job. The lesson plans seemed simple enough. I had to come up with term paper ideas,grade papers and teach classes. I did a double take when I read that. No one had ever told me that a teaching assistant had to actually teach classes.

I sat in the classroom my first day of being a teacher’s assistant and observed the professors. He introduced me and then I just sat down and watched his technique. He was boring now wonder he needed me to come up with term paper ideas. He looked to not have a creative bone in his body. I watched him with very little interest and glanced around the class room occasionally. Everyone looked the same way I felt. This class was going to be a challenge.

First on the lesson plan was term papers. I cold see that the class was full of freshman and I was pretty sure none of them had written research paper before. I started by going over the basic five paragraph term paper format.

Make sure you have a thesis this should be present in the introduction, first paragraph, and derivatives of this should be found in proceeding paragraphs. Only allow one topic per body paragraph and make sure you have a very strong conclusion. Additionally always edit your papers twice. Once in the morning and once at night.

I was really having a hard time engaging the students and coming up with term paper ideas. I began doing some critical analysis research on what topics students of this age range would be interested in. There wasn’t very much to choose from ad far as education goes. Aside from the television shows I had never heard of, bands I didn’t understand websites that seemed ridiculous I was really grasping at straws. Then I had an idea.

I walked into my classroom the next morning and told the students they they would have to write a term paper. But the most interesting and fun thing about it was they could write about anything they wanted but were still having a hard time coming up with ideas

A week later I had twenty-five papers in front of me to grade. They ranged from sports, to music, to stamp They were all very good considering it was probably the first paper any of them had written. I laughed and wondered what the professor would think of their term paper ideas.

The familiarity helps the students to a great extend in preparing their custom term paper. However, while following the style for the college term paper, one has to be more attentive to its structure and style.   In other words a five paragraph essay presents the research paper topic in a subtle manner with its topic being developed and established in five consecutive paragraphs.

The Structure

The structure of a five paragraph essay is uniquely compact due its form. In five compact paragraphs the thesis argument is developed and stated in a well-organized style. Like the name suggests the essay is composed of five paragraphs which are one Introduction paragraph, Three Body paragraphs and the Conclusion paragraph respectively.

Introduction: This paragraph introduces the research topic where the thesis statement is made. The thesis statement should be well-presented so as to impress the reader’s attention for pursuing it to the next body paragraphs. Due to this linking role of Introduction, the paragraph is generally considered to be the narrative hook.

Body: The thesis is getting shape in the body which comprises three consecutive paragraphs, each explaining the thesis argument with supportive data and analytical record. These three paragraphs deal the topic’s detailed critical research analysis with stating the fore and mentioning the opposed views. The task is a bit challenging as the topic study and analysis has to be completed within the three paragraphs.

Paragraph I: Here the writer has to draw his/her main argument regarding the topic. As a carry-over from Introduction, one should ensure that the first or second paragraphs clearly comprehend the subject of the paragraph, quickly graspable to the readers. Also the final portion of the paragraph should include the transitional hook to the second paragraph.

Paragraph II: In connection to the previously stated views in first paragraph, this paragraph carry out the thesis statement with further supporting arguments. The paragraph sketches out the middle portion of the thesis and fully focuses upon the topic analysis.

Paragraph III: Next to the second paragraph here, the topic is illustrated with other related, sometimes weaker arguments compared to the first and second paragraph. The topic’s supporting arguments are more or less winded up in this paragraph.

Conclusion: The last and fifth paragraph draws up the conclusion of the thesis and sums up the arguments stated earlier. With impressive final statements the writer can make the Five Paragraph Essay remarkable of worthy research and analysis. Outlining the main points and the thesis statement once more, this paragraph can be concluded with a persuasive final statement.

I didn’t grow up with a lot. My parents were both working class people and with six kids in my family there wasn’t a lot of money for anything extra. As I grew up I learned to save my money. I looked for sales and rarely bought anything at full price. I really knew the value of work since I had a job since I was sixteen. My friend Erica is the complete opposite. She grew up very, very privileged. Her parents had tons of money. Her mom was a doctor and her dad was a professor at the state university. As a result she didn’t have any student loans. When her dad got tired of his luxury car he passed it over to Erica. Since her parents babied her she didn’t have much drive or ambition since she always knew she could fall back on them. She also could never keep a job longer than a month. Erica always found some excuse why the job didn’t work for her. After the fifth job she decided she wanted to go to graduate school. Shortly after her first week began her parents informed her that they were stretched too thin and would be filing for bankruptcy. They would not be able to help Erica financially any longer. Eric quickly began postings ads that stated she had research papers for sale.

Erica was always a really good writer honestly it was about the only thing she didn’t rely on her parents to do. But now she felt her only solution was to post ads on the internet, signs on the college boards and just generally pass on pamphlets that said “research papers for sale.” It was a real difficult transition for Erica.

On afternoon we were driving around in her car. She hadn’t come to the point of selling it yet. We pulled over at the station when her gas light beeped. I was driving and she was sitting in the passenger seat with her lap top going over her some basic tips on term papers:

1.Create an outline that includes the basic five paragraph term paper : introduction, three main paragraphs for the body and conclusion.

2.State the thesis statement in the first and last paragraphs And have derivatives of that statement in each body paragraph.

3.Edit once walk away and edit again. She research papers for sale business would not thrive if she ever had spelling or grammar errors.

I popped the gas tank and waited for Erica to get out. She continued to work on her lap top. She was now trying to create a more eye catching research papers for sale sign. I continued to wait and she looked up and asked where “the gas man was.” I looked at her laughed and said it was self serve. She turned red closed her lap top and got out of the car. She fumbled with the gas hose. I looked at curiously. Erica had never pumped a tank of gas in her life. I quickly jumped out of the car before spilled gas everywhere.

Not only did Erica’s research papers for sale sign teach her how to be pump gas but it also showed her how to be more independent. Erica was getting very frustrated. She felt like she couldn’t do anything on her own. Not only did she now use the internet to post info on her research papers for sale but Erica was also able to find a great part time job and this time she kept it.

My dad use to always tell me in the end the only person you can count on is yourself. I never subscribed to that. I had ton of friends going some really good ones who I knew would always be there for me. In college especially I had the best friends. We’d hang out all the time. Go to movies, parties and just stop over each others dorm rooms. It was easy to find people to rely on to spend time with. To hang out with. Someone was always doing something. If I needed help with a term paper or a chemistry lab I could always count on someone to help me. They would research paper samples and really sit down to help me if I needed it. Then I graduated from college and I learned that when you throw convenience out the window those people who you thought were your friends are suddenly unavailable.

I’d like to think I am a pretty reliable person. If I tell someone I am going to do something I try a hundred and ten percent to do it. I expect the same thing from my friends. My friend Sarah writes online research papers. She is pretty good at it. It’s the only income she has right now so she really has a lot of time to spend on it. I was always helping her with term papers. I would write a page here or there. She’s a really nice person with good intentions but she is the unequivocally the most unreliable person I know

One evening she asked me to come over. Sarah had taken on too many writing projects and needed some help. She was writing a basic five paragraph term paper and I had to keep revising it since her thesis wasn’t weaved into all the parts, she didn’t have a topic sentence for each paragraph and the last paragraph which was suppose to wrap up the term paper was half in the second paragraph and half in the first. I think she was falling asleep when writing that one. It was two o’clock in the morning when I left her parents house to drive home. I woke Sarah up before I left she was groggy but knew she had to get up . She had two more college term papers due in less than two hours. She thanked me for my help and I ran to my car into the cold dark night.

As I was driving home I too began to doze off. I started rolling down the windows and blasting the radio to stay awake. It didn’t seem to be working I almost missed a stop light and screeched to halt in front of the line. Not even two seconds later I felt a jolt and turned around. A huge black SUV had crashed full on into me. I was freaked. I felt a surged of pain on my back and I was a little scared to get out of the car. I had no idea who or what I would be confronted with or what I would do. Oh why did I decide to help Sarah with her stupid term paper?

I picked up my phone and dialed her number immediately. I looked in my rear view mirror. The car had stopped but no one had gotten out of the car. I called her twice before I answered. She sounded annoyed that I had woken her up. I told her I needed her to come by where I was now. And that I had just gotten into an accident I was freaked. Sarah doesn’t drive well she can drive but her parents don’t let her use there car. I asked her if she could get her parents to bring her buy and told me she didn’t want to wake them up. I was livid. I jumped when a young man knocked on my window. I kept the line connected with Sarah and rolled down my window a bit. He asked me if I was okay and apologized for hitting me. He said he had great insurance and handed me an insurance card. He was shaking a bit but also told me he had already called the police and they would be there shortly.

I went back to the phone call with Sarah. She assured me that I would be okay and there was no need to call the police. I told her I was scared to be out so late by myself waiting for the cops and if she could just ask her parents to come by I’d really appreciate it. Sarah refused telling me that they would be angry. And that it was too far of a walk for her to come by. That was the last time I spoke to Sarah.

I will never forget how I went out of my way to help Sarah with her term paper and when I needed her badly she refused to help. Who knows the person who crashed into me could have been a drug dealer or a serial killer. The main point is. When I needed her she wasn’t there. It was very difficult thing for me to walk away from her. She was my best friend. But I learned she was only my friend when it was convenient for her and she really didn’t care how I was or what happened to me. The only person I can count on is myself. The term paper helped me see that.

Have you ever met someone who was home schooled? They’re a little off. A little bit different. You can really pick them out of a crowd. They are borderline Aspergers syndrome with very few social skills. Now I am not knocking home schooling. I have a friend who I know was home schooled all the way until she went to college. She was a very different person. Barbara struggled when she met people in everyday interactions. I thought she was going to have a heart attack when one of our fellow classmates put his arm around her and she jumped about twenty feet to get away from him. Zero social skills. That wasn’t the only thing odd about Barbara, she was slow. I am really not trying to be mean but she was just always gradual on the uptake. She never got basic corny jokes. When we told stories we always had to repeat parts since she couldn’t follow and she was a really poor student. I am pretty sure it was because of her home school upbringing she just struggled so much. She couldn’t even write a basic five paragraph term paper.

I always earned easy A’s but Barbara always earned hard C’s and sometimes D’s. She just had the hardest time with basic ideas and themes. She had no idea how to study or take notes and she never could discipline herself or budget her time well. She would always get angry with me for goofing but still doing well in school. Our freshman year I was a teaching assistant for the Fundamentals of Writing Class. Barbara was one of my students. I tried to recuse myself from her assignments but the Professor assured me that he believed in my abilities not to be bias towards her. I think he just didn’t want to grade any research papers. For awhile it was fine I taught some of the classes and did the best I could with Barbara there. I tried to never pick on her or call her out. She assumed I would give her special treatment but I just tried to be encouraging. He had very basic assignments for a while. The fifth assignment for this Fundamentals Class was a five paragraph term paper I cringed I new Barbara would have some difficulties with this.

The Professor allowed three drafts of the five paragraph term paper with the hopes that each term paper would get better with each draft provided. I said “with the hope” most of them did not get better in fact most of these research papers got worse. Barbara’s was by far the worst paper in the bunch. I always knew which paper was hers. I always knew what grade I’d have to give her but could never bring myself to do it. Her thoughts were scattered, she obviously didn’t know how to use spellcheck and her idea was just too narrow to write a five paragraph term paper.

I went over the basic idea of this term paper over and over. I drew an outline. First paragraph tell them what you’re going to tell them and make three key points. In the following three paragraphs critically analyze and describe each point. In the last paragraph summarize everything you just told them and make sure you reiterate the three points again. Do your research and site at least three sources MLA. She didn’t get it at all. You would think I was talking french to the girl. I had no idea how much clearer I could be. Her next term paper was worse than the first. I think she was trying too hard.

Barbara failed the Fundamental of Writing class. She was beyond mad at me when it happened. I had the professor grade her last paper and he was appalled. He had a sit down with her and she blamed me. I literally had to pull her file and all her old papers including her five paragraph term paper to prove that I had little to nothing to do with her lack of writing skills. Needless to say we are no longer friends but I hope she has at least gotten to the point where she can write a five paragraph term paper.
