MLA Research Paper Formats Are Pretty Basic Papers to Write
My senior year in college I was a teacher’s assistant. It was an awesome job. I really basked in the attention of the eager freshman who often looked up to me. Part of my job was to teach one third of the classes. But the professor who taught that English class was so lazy. He never wanted to do a thing. He was constantly asking me to grade papers, plan lessons and teach the majority of the classes. It was really a lot of work. As freshman these students really had very little knowledge of how to write a research paper. So when the unit rolled around I had a really hard time getting them to understand the basic research format. I really thought I had made a small amount of progress until The professor told me the unit called for an MLA research paper format. It baffled me that, that would be the first type of paper they would have to learn. But of course since he wouldn’t be teaching them,I would. He just got the the tenure and six figure salary. So I sat down and wrote out a bunch of tips on different MLA research paper formats.
1.The MLA research paper format differs highly from most citations method because it is the footnote method. Meaning the citations are quoted at the very bottom of the page and very detailed bibliography should accompany it.
2.Use the following as guide for your bibliography in the when using the MLA citation method when citing a book:
Last name of author, First name of Author. Title of Book. Place Published: Publisher. Year. Print.
3.Do some really good research. Go to the library and put your hands on everything you can find pertaining to this topic and simply just read. Then pulled quotes out of the book, journals or articles you are reading and plug them into your paper as a supporting idea to the point you are trying to make.
4.Editing is key. This will make or break your paper. Be sure your paper is free of grammatical and spelling errors. Really read over it with fine tooth comb. Take it to the free english tutoring center and have them look it over as well. Two sets of eyes are always better than one. If you turn a paper in with any such error you will definitely lose points.
5.Consider term-papers-writer.com for help. They can help with the MLA research style. I stumbled upon this site when perusing the web one day. It really had a ton of great tips on how to write a great research or term paper.
As difficult as that job was I really appreciated helping students with the MLA research paper formats. In generally working with the freshman was one of the best experiences of my life. At the time I was really very upset at that professor for making me do so much work. But he made it up to me eight years later when I got to take over his job.
