A Good Research Paper Topic Is Writing About Something You Are Passionate About
Being happy, I mean really happy is a pretty hard thing to achieve. There are moments when I am happy. When someone compliments me. When my dog greets me when I get home and when I finished my first marathon. Yes these things made me happy but they are all fleeting. The truth is, what isn’t fleeting? You can’t be happy all the time. To truly experience happiest you have to experience some sort of sadness, hurt or pain. It’s sucks but it’s true. I started modeling at the age of twelve. It was a money maker. I got great clothes and they always made me look so pretty. When viewed my pictures I always looked so happy. It made me laugh because the truth was I hated it. It washard. The people were bossy and I couldn’t eat anything I wanted. When I got older I became an eighth grade teacher. My message to my students was to always be happy. Find something that you are passionate about that makes you happy. So when I was helping my students pick good topics for research papers I relayed the same message.
1.A good topic for a research paper is one you will be happy to write about. Really think about what makes you happy and what you are passionate about. I once had a student write about a certain blond, tanned, professional wrestler. He wrote about this man like he was his hero. It was obviously very important to him. He did some great research and really had passion in his writing. That’s the way to pick a good topic for a research paper.
2.Research is so important. Really do some reading on the topic you are writing about. This is where picking a topic that make you happy comes into play. If you are interested in what you are talking about then you will want to read everything you can get your hands on in order to learn more. You will also be really be educated in the topic. More over you will be able to speak with authority and answer educated questions on it.
2.Learn to cite. As a eighth grade teacher I was introduced the idea of research papers and citations methods to my students. I wanted them to learn the two basic methods MLA and APA:
Last name of author, first name of author. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, year. Print.
Last name of author, First name of author. (year). Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher.
The in text citation is as follows:
(Last name of author, year, page#)
3.Editing is key. I nor any other teacher will ever want to read an essay that is filled with grammatical and spelling errors. As some point I just give up and give an automatic fail. If you don’t feel like you can edit your own paper have a peer, friend or even a neighbor look it over. More than likely they will catch mistakes that you didn’t.
4.Termpaperwriter.org is a great website to utilize. They can help you come up with great research paper topics. The website also has funny and informative blogs.
Good topics for research papers is really not as hard as it sounds. In fact it’s quite easy. What makes you happy? What are you interested in? What do you want to know more about? It’s not rocket science, if you pick a topic that you are genuinely interested in then your paper will be that much better.
