Research Paper Outline Worksheets Are A Great Tool To Help Write a Great Paper
I have loved to write since I was a little girl. I am good at it. It really is the only thing I have ever really been good at. I loved to write short stories and poetry. I would spend hours in my room journaling. My brother always called me a dreamer. I wrote about some pretty far fetched things. I loved to travel and see the world. I wanted more than what I had and I told myself I would figure out a way to get there. My teachers were always impressed by my writing skills. I knew that some day I would be a writer. I became a english major when I go to college and my senior year I became editor of the school news paper. It was really one of the hardest jobs I ever had. My family had recently come under some hard times and I needed to make more money I became a tutor for the English department. It was a pretty cool job. I really enjoyed it. It always surprised me how hard writing was for some students. The biggest problem most students had was trying to write a research paper. Research papers are really hard but when they are written with a research paper outline worksheet they can be very easy. I developed the following tips to help my students write the best research paper ever.
- Research paper outline worksheets are the best way to write a paper . It works by breaking it down into very simples steps. Every single paragraph is labeled and there are spots alloted for the thesis statement and citations. Furthermore the introduction, body and conclusion is all broken down into smaller parts. This is designed to help the students focus on individual parts of the essay as opposed to being overwhelmed by a huge essay with many different parts.
- A key part of a research paper outline worksheet is research. Along with having spaces for the outline there is also a bibliography page. This is really important. If the bibliography is completed with the outline this will make your paper much easier to write since you will be able to reference back to that work.
- Pick a topic of interests. I always feel badly for the students who come in and have little to no passion for the topic they have to write about. Most of the times professors allow you to pick your own topic. We all know they have very little interests in what you are writing about but how you are writing it. Have fun with it. If you are writing about something you don’t like and have little to no passion for it will come through in your paper.
- Pick good sources. The truth is yes we may live in the age of the internet but most professors will put stipulations on internet sources. Good, reputable, internet sources can be really hard to find. I would stick with books, articles and journals.
When I was an english tutor research paper outline worksheets were really an amazing tool for the students. Most of them really didn’t know where to start when trying to write a research paper. But the outline really helped them get to a more manageable arena when trying to write a paper. As for me I am still a dreamer but I at least I am also a writer.
