I Didn’t Get a Performance Review I got a Management Term Paper
I have always wanted be a lawyer. It is something I know I would be good at. I love to argue. I have a very loud voice and I rarely back down. I have been told I have a presence about me. My junior year in college I became an intern at a law firm. It was a great job. I was sure in three years I would be working at this firm. It was such a great job. It was so interesting and fun. I couldn’t wait to read the legal briefs. I couldn’t wait to learn who was getting dIvorced and why. It was so exciting. I worked in the New York office and celebrity names often passed across my desk. The biggest rule while working at the firm was confidentiality. I understood the idea but some of the gossip was just so juicy. I would glance at papers that weren’t really mine to look at. I pulled files that I had no business being in and I even search government data bases to learn. Then I started to get serious diarrhea of the mouth. I became the firm gossip. It was fun. People were always interested in what I had to say and I made a ton of “friends.” Little did I know my management term paper was coming up.
My supervisor called my performance review a management term paper because he had to fill out a lot of paperwork .He even had to write a term paper on me at the end of the semester. The morning of my review I was really very mellow. I had been doing a really good job at the firm. I typed all my legal briefs quickly and with few errors and I really thought everyone liked me. I did dress up a bit that morning. I wanted to at least look like I cared. I quickly skimmed over the criteria her would have to be judging me for the management term paper.
1. The paragraph should explain at three main points of your management term paper.
2.Proceeding paragraphs in your term paper should summarize each point and explain how the intern responded to your style.
3. The research paper should be clear and concise. Please do not be overly wordy but direct.
4. Last paragraph should summarize your manageable style again and determine if it has been effective thus far.
That afternoon I sat with my manager ,Paul, in conference room that probably saw the likes of many of divorcees, rapists and murders. I was fired. My supervisor looked me dead in the face and told me that he has his systems monitored and check daily. He had read the critical analysis data on my login and password and was very aware of my curious tendencies. Paul said he notice I did it once but then I continued to do it. Furthermore he was greatly upset that I shared my findings with my coworkers who had obviously rated me out. I was angry but I knew he was right and bummed that my management term paper got me fired.
